During class:
- Refrain from talking in the yoga room. Yoga is a practice of meditation so please respect others by honoring the silence of the room. If you have any questions, please feel free to talk to the instructor before or after the class.
- Stay inside the room for the entire duration of the class to become acclimated and to strengthen your will and concentration skills. Leaving the room is very disruptive to other students in the class.
- If an emergency requires you to leave, please leave and re-enter silently between postures.
- Limit your postures to the Bikram series. During class, please do not substitute and/or add postures from other types of yoga.
- Please come tot he class properly hydrated and refrain from drinking water for the first 3 postures to allow your body and core to warm up properly and sufficiently (the instructor will announce a water break). After the 3rd posture (eagle), students are free to drink water during any break.
- Practice stillness and discipline between postures.
- Focus on only yourself in the mirror, practice mind-body connection by looking into your own eyes.
- The students in the front row help the teachers guide the class. If you choose to be in the front row, please be strong and lead by example for the people behind you.
- If you physically can’t do certain postures or just need a break, it’s permitted and advised to lay still in savasana with back on the floor and feet facing the wall. However, always keep your eyes open to stay present in the room and rejoin the class as soon as you can.
After class:
- The series is not completed until you have done your final savasana. Observe silence after the savasana – relax, meditate, allow your body to completely absorb all the benefits of your hard work.
- Please respect the teacher by waiting until he/she has left the room before you leave yourself.
- Respect others by leaving the room quietly and gently closing the door behind you.
- If you need a mat from us, please hang it up over the ballet bar on your way out in the area indicating “for used mats” and spray cleaning-solution provided in the studio and hang to dry.
- Enjoy the energy and peace your taking with you from class and make up your mind to come back tomorrow.
